The new year is meant to be very exciting thanks to the release of new online games which are sure to keep everyone happy. Indeed, 2020 will be full of compelling new experiences including jaw-dropping remakes as well as long-awaited sequels.
Some of them will be offered by videogames providers such as SEGA, with its Phantasy Star Online 2 expected for spring 2020, or the newly formed Amazon Games Studios, with Lord of Rings and New World MMO forthcoming next year.
But even before the year starts, there are already big names producing exciting new content in the entertainment industry. Companies like PokerStars have brand new titles coming out over the Christmas period. They launched the Winter Series on December 25, which consists of 242 tournaments taking place over 21 days.

1. Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Scheduled for release in February 2020 by Moon Studios and Xbox Game Studios, Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be available for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows 10. The player will take control of Ori, a guardian spirit. The first game, Ori and the Blind Forest was released in 2015.
2. Gods & Monsters
Gods & Monsters will be released in February 2020 from Ubisoft. This is an action-adventure game which will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Series X.
3. Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a remake of Final Fantasy VII, which was released in 1997. The remake will be released by Square Enix in March 2020 and will be available for the PlayStation 4.
4. Bleeding Edge
Another game which is expected to be released in March 2020 is Bleeding Edge, which will be available for PC and Xbox. This is a multiplayer combat video game developed by Ninja Theory.
5. Half-Life: Alyx
Half-Life: Alyx is expected to be released in March 2020 by Valve. This is a virtual reality first-person shooter, available for Microsoft Windows.
6. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a real-time life simulation game, the fifth title in the Animal Crossing series. This is scheduled to be released in March 2020 by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch video game console. The player assumes the role of a character moving to a deserted island that the player will then explore and develop into a community of anthropomorphic animals.
7. Nioh 2
Set in the 1500s in Japan, another game which is expected to be released in March 2020 is Nioh 2, which is coming to PlayStation 4. The first game was released on PlayStation 4 in February 2017 and on PC in November of the same year. Nioh 2 will be a prequel to Nioh, which is currently only available on PlayStation 4 at the moment.
8. Trials of Mana
Trials of Mana is scheduled for release in April 2020 by Square Enix. This action role-playing game will be offered on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. This is a remake of another game that was originally released in 1995.
9. Cyberpunk 2077
Developed by CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for release in April 2020. This is a role-playing video game which will be available for PlayStation, Xbox One, Stadia and Microsoft Windows.
10. Avengers
Marvel’s Avengers is an action-adventure video game that will be released by Square Enix in April 2020.
11. Empire of Sin
Empire of Sin is a real-time simulation game which will be released by Paradox Interactive during next year. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows and macOS.
12. Dual Universe
Dual Universe will be released by the end of next year by Novaquark. This is a sci-fi space simulation MMO which will be available on PC.
13. The Last of Us Part II
An action-adventure game by Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive, The Last of Us Part II is expected to be released in May 2020. It will be available for PlayStation 4.
Other video games are expected to be released throughout the year although the dates haven’t been confirmed yet, such as A Total War Saga, Troy, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Starfield, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Psychonauts 2.
