The 42th Covent Garden May Fayre 2017 and Puppet Festival is a FREE annual celebration of the art of puppetry, which takes place near the spot that Samuel Pepys first witnessed ‘Mr Punch’ in London in May 1662.
Organized by the Alternative Arts group, the 2017 event will see puppetry specialists, known as ‘Professors’, come from all over the UK to perform live Punch and Judy shows throughout the day – in the heart of London’s trendy West End.
Stalls will be run by community groups from the London boroughs of Westminster and Camden with the Covent Garden Community Association, as well as The British Puppet and Model Theatre Guild, The College of Punch and Judy Professors, The Puppet Centre Trust, The Union International de la Marionette, and The Punch and Judy Fellowship. Refreshments are provided by Coffee Affair.
